Blackrod Cooked Meat Company (Blackrod, we, us, our) is committed to handling your information properly. This policy explains what we collect when you get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what you can expect from us.

What we collect

When you fill in our contact form, we collect:

• Your first and last name

• Your email address

• Your phone number

• What your enquiry is about

• Which best describes you, for example food service buyer, distributor, retailer

• Your message

• Whether you have asked us to send a Bacamfry or Wiltshire Ham sample

If you ask for a sample, we may also need your postal address. We will ask you for this directly, by phone or email, once we are arranging your sample. We do not collect it through the website itself.

If you contact us by phone or email instead of using the form, we will collect whatever information you choose to give us in that conversation.

Why we collect it and our legal basis

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, answer your questions, and, where you have asked for one, arrange a product sample. We do this on the basis of legitimate interests. You have got in touch with us about our products, and using your details to reply, and to post or arrange a sample where requested, is a reasonable and expected part of that.

We may contact you by email or by phone to follow up on your enquiry or to arrange a sample, whichever is easiest.

We do not use your contact form information for marketing or send you anything you have not asked for. If that ever changes, for example a newsletter or product updates, we will ask for your separate, clear permission first.

Who sees your information

Your enquiry is received by the Blackrod team. We also use the following to run the website and handle enquiries:

• Webflow, our website platform, which processes and stores form submissions in order to deliver them to us

• Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our site (see the Cookies section below)

We do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as is reasonably needed to respond to you and to maintain a record of our business contacts, generally no longer than [X months/years — to confirm with Alan/Victoria]. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, see Your Rights below.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Ask us what information we hold about you

• Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate

• Ask us to delete your information

• Object to how we are using your information

Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use a small number of them to understand how our website is used.

Cookies we use

We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors find and use our website. This sets the following cookies once you have given your consent:

• _ga – used to distinguish visitors, stored for around 2 years

• _ga_[container ID] – used to maintain session state, stored for around 2 years

These cookies do not identify you personally. They tell us things like which pages are visited and how people move through the site, which helps us improve it.

We also use Google Search Console to understand how our site appears in Google search results. This does not set any cookies on your device.

Your consent

When you first visit our website, you will be shown a cookie banner. Analytics cookies are only set once you accept them. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the website footer.
